WalkingPad R2: deck folds in half and stands upright

The WalkingPad R2 is meant for small homes where neither a full treadmill nor a long flat pad fits comfortably. Its deck folds in half and stands upright against a wall, taking up a fraction of the floor it uses when open. It is also a genuine 2-in-1: fold the handrail down for desk walking up to about 6 km/h, or raise it to run at up to 12 km/h. Storage footprint plus running ability is what makes it different.

In its favour

  • The fold-and-stand design halves the deck, giving the shortest folded length in this guide.
  • A 119 x 43 cm belt is the longest and widest here, so the small fold costs no stride room.
  • The handrail folds down for desk walking or lifts for running up to 12 km/h.

Good to know

  • At 36.7 kg it is the heaviest treadmill in this guide to move around.
  • The listing does not state a maximum user weight, which you should confirm before buying.

Our take

Two modes set by the handrail

With the rail lowered, WalkingPad caps speed at 3.7 mph, close to 6 km/h, which suits a standing desk. Raising the rail unlocks the full 7.5 mph, about 12 km/h. The minimum speed is 0.5 mph, roughly 0.8 km/h. Linking the top speed to the handrail position is a sensible safety choice, since a handhold matters most when running.

No incline is listed anywhere, so every session is on a flat deck.

Frame, deck and motor

The frame is a single piece of aluminium alloy, which the maker credits with reducing vibration. The deck is listed at 47 x 16.98 inches, around 119 x 43 cm, which is longer and wider than the 100 x 40 cm belts on many pads. The spec table gives a 2 HP motor, and the item highlight describes it as a quiet brushless unit, though no decibel figure is provided.

A hidden LED display at the front shows time, speed, distance and calories. Control is by the included remote or the KS Fit app over Bluetooth.

Storage, weight and the missing figure

Folded, the R2 measures 39 x 28 x 6.3 inches, about 99 x 71 x 16 cm. It is not light, at 36.7 kg, so standing it up and moving it is a job to take carefully. No assembly is needed, and a tool kit and safety key come in the box.

The listing does not state a maximum user weight. That is the key figure to confirm with the seller before ordering, especially if you plan to run.

Against the FOUSAE 5-in-1 and the double-fold WalkingPad

The FOUSAE 5-in-1 also runs to 12 km/h with a fold-down handle and adds a 10% incline, app support for Zwift and Kinomap, and a stated 160 kg limit, but it stores flat rather than upright. The WalkingPad double-fold pad shares the fold-in-half idea with a removable handlebar and a thinner profile, though its listing caps speed at about 8 km/h.

Verdict

The R2 makes sense for runners and walkers with very little floor space who like a roomier deck and are happy without incline, once the weight limit is confirmed. Those who want a gradient and a stated capacity should look at the FOUSAE 5-in-1, while walkers who need under-bed storage may prefer the double-fold WalkingPad.
