The FOUSAE 5-in-1 is built for people who want one machine for both work-time walking and evening runs. With the handle folded down it slides under a desk; lift the handle and it runs up to 12 km/h, with controls on the handrail. A 2.75 HP brushless motor is quoted at under 40 dB, and it supports up to 160 kg. That blend of quiet running, a handle and running speed is its main selling point.

In its favour

  • The maker states it is ready to use out of the box without assembly.
  • A 160 kg user limit and 100 x 40 cm belt, both clearly listed.
  • Works with Fitshow, Kinomap and Zwift, with controls on the fold-up handle.

Good to know

  • The incline is fixed at 10% rather than powered and adjustable on the move.
  • The warranty field just reads 2, so confirm whether that means years.

Our take

Five modes across one speed range

FOUSAE lists 0.6 to 7.5 mph, roughly 1 to 12 km/h, and splits the range into work, walking, jogging and running bands. Opening the handle is described as a one-step job, after which you can rest a phone or tablet on the stand and use the buttons on the handrail. A magnetic remote also clips to the side of the pad.

Twelve HIIT programmes are built in. The incline reaches 10%, but the listing does not say whether it is manual or powered.

Specs that matter in daily use

The deck is 100 x 40 cm. That is a common size for walking pads and fine for walking and jogging, but taller runners pushing towards 12 km/h may find the length limiting. Eight shock-absorbing columns sit under the belt.

The pad weighs 23 kg and measures 116 x 50.5 x 12.5 cm. FOUSAE says it uses thicker materials than comparable models, which it links to the extra weight. The warranty field in the spec table shows only the number 2, without stating the unit.

Apps, setup and storage

Fitshow, Kinomap and Zwift are listed as compatible, with real-time speed, distance, time and calories. The pad is ready to use out of the box with no assembly, and transport wheels help you roll it under a sofa or behind a door. A tool kit is still included.

Where it sits against KALWOL and the WalkingPad R2

The KALWOL 6-in-1 is the nearest match, with a fold-down handle, 12 km/h, 160 kg and app support, plus a built-in speaker; its spec table says assembly is required. The WalkingPad R2 folds in half to stand upright and also reaches 12 km/h with its rail raised, but its listing does not state a maximum user weight.

Verdict

The FOUSAE 5-in-1 is a sensible choice for home workers who also want to run, value a quiet motor and need a 160 kg rating without assembly. If a built-in speaker appeals, compare the KALWOL 6-in-1, and if floor space is very tight, the upright-storing WalkingPad R2 may suit better once you confirm its weight limit.
